Chronicles of Kai - Japan Adventures, Part I

We spent three weeks in Japan this summer, most of which was spent in Osaka, where The Samurai Lady’s parents live.
It was a treat for us, because they spoil us, and for them to get to spend so much time with their grandson, who dotes on them. Here is Kai with his Osaka Grandma and Grandpa:

They live in a wonderful home which is right on the foot of a mountain. You can see it here from their balcony.
I later climbed that mountain with my father-in-law, and had trouble keeping up with him. He moves fast. Just like his grandson. They both move very quickly, here’s an action photo of the two having a fun race:
I spent the majority of the time working on a script, while the rest of the family played … it was a good place to work, as that there were no tempting Law & Order marathons on TNT to distract me, just the work during the day and family and food at night. I ate far too much, as that both Osaka Grandpa and Grandma are excellent cooks and enjoy making a fine meal.
It was a wonderful trip, enabling Kai to have all sorts of adventures with his grandparents, meeting friends and family in Japan … I’ll post more on it next Sunday.
