Friday Baby Blogging - The Godfather Returns Again!
Kai’s Godfather once again paid visit to the Prince:

Kai was most pleased to see him:

But the little man’s gained some serious weight.
Check out this sequence - just at two weeks of age:

He’s growing at a metabolic rate! Look at his head! He looks ready to head-butt Ato! Hee-hee!
Ah, my boy. And that reminds me.
The Samurai Lady was most upset with me last week because I DIDN’T post the following picture, one she is most fond of:

I told her when she gets her own blog, she can post what she likes.
Aaaaand then of course I gave in and did exactly what she wanted.
Because that’s how we roll in the Naka-James household, heh.

By the way, Kai wants to send out a special HEY to his Uncle Stacy, because today on this day, Uncle Stacy’s doing something pretty cool.
But Kai ain’t tellin’ you all what it is, nuh-uh. That’s between him and Uncle Stace . . .

Kick ass, Uncle Stacy! And this is one of my favorite colors!
We’re thinking of you today!

These pics don’t do Kai justice. Don’t get me wrong, they’re great pictures but there’s nothing like holding the little bugger as he tries to sing you a song. That level of cuteness should be against the law! Josh and the Samurai Lady should sell tickets…

I’ve stared at these pics for awhile now and I feel like I’ve met Kai’s Godfather before. I don’t know how I know him and it’s driving me crazy. I guess I should let it go, since I can’t reconcile it.

He’s been in movies and film, so perhaps you’ve seen him in GARDEN STATE or BLOOD DIAMOND or one of the LAW AND ORDERS -
Or perhaps you met him during your nyc theatre days - he was heavy into the indie theatre scene back in the day, it’s how we met in 99 -

It isn’t a tv thing. I feel like I met him in person, that he was with someone. It’s driving me crazy. We must have a mutual friend. I think it would’ve been in 2001-2004 and in theater, for sure.
BTW, sorry I didn’t get to do that meme you tapped me for a few weeks ago. My head has been solidly elsewhere.

He and I were doing a LOT of theatre during that time - we had our company, THE DEFIANT ONES, producing a lot of stuff, most of it at Manhattan Theatre Source - Ato also did readings at a ton of places, so the chances are that you saw him in a reading or a show - really though, in 2001 and 02, we both did about ten to twenty shows, we were hopping - these days we’re both more about film, but theatre was fun, it was . . .

Maybe at the Cherry Lane. I was a member during at least part of that time.
I know I’ve met him. I guess I shouldn’t try to think too hard about it. It’ll come to me.
